This page explains how Doctor Fran produces and reviews the health information published on doctorfran.com, and the standards every page is held to. Our goal is simple: the health content you read here should be accurate, current, and reviewed by a licensed physician.
Doctor Fran's health and clinical information is written and reviewed by, or under the direction of, physicians licensed in Ontario and registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Our content is medically reviewed by Dr. Francis Ojukwu, MBBS — a family physician licensed in Ontario (CPSO #146629) and the founder of Doctor Fran.
Every clinical or health-information page is reviewed by a physician before it is published. Reviewed pages display a “Medically reviewed by” byline naming the reviewing physician and the date of the most recent review. We revisit content periodically — and whenever relevant medical guidance or Ontario law changes — and we update the review date when we do.
Where a page makes a factual or clinical claim, we aim to cite primary, authoritative sources — such as Health Canada, the CPSO, the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Canadian Medical Association, provincial legislation, and peer-reviewed medical literature — rather than vague or secondary references. When the rules change (for example, the sick-note provisions of Ontario's Working for Workers Five Act, 2024), we update the affected pages.
We work to keep our information accurate and current. Health guidance and Ontario regulations can change, and the “last reviewed” date shown on a page reflects when a physician last confirmed its content. If you believe something is out of date or incorrect, please tell us (see Corrections below).
The articles and guides on doctorfran.com are general information. They are not a substitute for a consultation with a physician, or for personalized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Care through Doctor Fran is provided by physicians acting as independent contractors who exercise their own clinical judgment. Clinical decisions — including whether to issue a prescription or a sick note — are made by the physician following an assessment, and are never guaranteed by booking or paying for a consultation.
